Slyp is a retail-fintech transforming the world of receipts.

Slyp automatically delivers a revolutionary Smart Receipt right inside your banking app, eliminating paper receipts and creating a seamless customer experience.

A customer can receive a Slyp Smart Receipt from businesses who have joined the Slyp network. The Smart Receipt may be delivered via their banking app, or via SMS.

For delivery inside the banking app

Customers will receive in-app smart receipts after making a purchase at a Slyp-enabled business (provided they have opted-in in the banking app). This will happen automatically without providing additional details at checkout.

For delivery via SMS

The option to receive a Slyp Smart Receipt via SMS may be offered by some retailers or in the case where a customer is not using a Slyp enabled banking app. A customers can choose to use Slyp’s SMS receipt service by providing their mobile number to the participating retailer at checkout. A Slyp Receipt will be sent via SMS to the customers phone.

Alternatively, the customer can choose to receive a SMS receipt at participating retailers by providing their mobile number at the point of sale.

Slyp can integrate with most POS systems. See our list of  POS partners here.

Slyp integrates directly with most POS systems to capture receipt information. Retailers will have access to an online portal where they can manage their store details and personalise Smart Receipts or this may be done via their POS partner.

For delivery inside the banking app

Slyp Smart Receipts are delivered automatically to your customers mobile banking app.

For delivery via SMS

Customers will need to provide their mobile number at checkout which will need to be entered in the POS system.

At minimum, Slyp needs to capture the receipt information from a POS system in real-time (receipt data feed) to deliver Smart Receipts to your customers at the time of transaction. To enhance the customer experience, we recommend also integrating a product data feed (product catalogue) to surface additional product information and store network details to keep receipt details up to date.

The Slyp Smart Receipt contains all the mandatory tax receipt information and will remain available to the customer for at least seven years. If a Slyp receipt is delivered (either via mobile banking app or SMS), there will be no need to print a paper receipt.

Privacy & Data

Slyp receives receipt data from retailers’ POS systems to produce smart receipts.

For delivery inside the banking app

Slyp will collect anonymised bank transaction data in order to match the POS receipt data to the bank transaction and enable the delivery of the Smart Receipt to the customer. Slyp will also receive anonymised customer demographic information to provide retailers with business insights.

For delivery via SMS

Slyp will collect the customer phone number to enable the delivery of smart receipts. Phone numbers will be encrypted to protect customers’ privacy.

Anonymised demographic information may be shared with retailers to provide them with general business insights. Identifiable customer data or receipt information will never be shared without explicit consent from the customer.

A customer can choose to share their information with their banks (or other authorised third-parties) in order to receive additional services.

Slyp will only use data for the specific purposes agreed by the retailer who supplied such data in their services agreement. Data will not be used for undisclosed secondary purposes.

No information which can be identified to a specific retailer will be shared with other retailers. All insights are subject to strict commercial confidentiality standards to prevent other parties from inferring information about another retailer.

Smart Receipts are surfaced in your customers’ mobile banking app through Slyp’s technology. Receipt data provided by a retailer is held by Slyp, not banks. A bank may be given access to receipt data if a customer requests for it to be shared in order to use additional services. Banks may use the information only for the specific purposes the customer consents to share their data for.
